The Proven 34 is Bowtech's all-rounder at 34 inches axle to axle, offered in two versions that differ in draw length.
Thirty-four inches axle to axle hits the range that works for target, field and 3D alike: long enough to hold steady, short enough to stay manageable on a course. Both versions share the same technology, the same mass weight and the same draw weight steps. What changes is the draw length range, the brace height and the speed that follows from it.
The SD covers 25 to 30 inches with a 6.625 inch brace height and is quoted at up to 336 fps. The LD runs from 27.5 to 33 inches with a 7 inch brace height and up to 331 fps. Archers with a long draw often end up shooting permanently at the top of a bow's range, and that is exactly what the LD is for. The slightly larger brace height also tends to forgive a small error on release more readily than a tight one. Between 27.5 and 30 inches the two overlap, with the SD running near the top of its cam and the LD near the bottom, so a quick conversation beats a rule of thumb there.
At the technical core of both sits the DeadLock cam system. Lateral cam position can be set deliberately and then locked, so the arrow flight you tuned stays where you put it instead of being hunted down again after every string change. Cam timing is corrected through TimeLock with an Allen wrench, no bow press involved. That puts a job back in your own hands which otherwise means a trip to the workshop.
Two more systems concern how the bow sits. CenterMass, now in its second generation, moves the sight mount closer to the centreline of the riser, which helps the bow settle at full draw. GripLock lets you change the grip angle, again with an Allen wrench, until the hand position feels right.
Draw weight is quoted as the maximum. The limb bolts bring it down by up to 10 pounds, so the 60 lbs version covers roughly 50 to 60 pounds.
