ILF riser machined from solid, available in 23 or 25 inches.

The Vellator V2 is CNC machined from a block of 6061 aluminium rather than cast. Fivics quotes a manufacturing accuracy of one in a thousand. Where that shows is in the limb pockets sitting cleanly in line with one another, with limb alignment set by hex key and no special tool required.

The length decides the bow length. The 25 inch with short, medium or long limbs gives 66, 68 or 70 inches, the classic combination for adult archers. The 23 inch sits two inches below that at 64, 66 or 68 inches, suiting younger archers, smaller archers and anyone for whom a 68 inch bow is simply too long. Just 50 grams separate the two in weight.

The finish comes in two forms, and the difference is more than a question of colour. On the anodised colours the shade sits in the surface of the aluminium itself, a hard layer that cannot chip. The painted colours are a coating on the metal and allow shades that cannot be anodised, but they are more sensitive to knocks and scratches.
