Rubber damper for mounting between stabiliser and weights, in two sizes.

There is mass at the end of a stabiliser, and that mass keeps moving after the shot. A damper in this position interrupts the path between weight and bar and turns part of the vibration into heat instead of letting it run back into the bow. The material is a specialty rubber with low rebound, chosen to swallow energy rather than return it.

Which of the two sizes to choose follows from the weight sitting behind it. The Ghost 32 is the softer and smaller one and suits lighter setups. The Ghost 40 is harder and larger and made for heavy ones; Shibuya names around 10 ounces as the upper limit for the weight behind it. A damper too soft for the mass gives way and becomes restless itself, one too hard for a light setup does very little. Conveniently the name carries both figures: the number is the diameter in millimetres and the Shore hardness at once.

• The two sizes use different threads. The Ghost 40 fits the 5/16-24 mounts common in stabilisation directly, while the Ghost 32 has a 1/4 inch thread and needs an adapter for them
• On the Ghost 40, no more than around 10 oz of weight should sit behind the damper
