The Concept XTS 34 is the shortest and lightest of the three Concept XTS bows, made for archers who would rather have a lively bow than an especially steady one.
34 inches axle to axle and a 6.25 inch brace height make it the most responsive model in the range. It reacts more directly, it is easier to handle indoors and on a course, and at 4.75 pounds it weighs noticeably less than its bigger siblings. The shorter brace height gives the arrow a longer power stroke, but it also forgives small errors in execution a little less than a tall one does.
Behind it sits the SCTR 2.0 cam system, Hoyt's reworked cam generation. It runs more smoothly at the front and the end of the draw force curve than its predecessor while adding around four feet per second.
Draw length is set by the module. The CDM covers 24.5 to 27.5 inches and the TDM picks up above it, from 27.5 to 29.5 inches. Both are rotating modules that step through their positions in half inch increments, so changing within the range needs no new part. The difference is in the feel: the TDM draws noticeably softer at its top position, which is why Hoyt recommends it for archers at the long end.
There is also the modular grip system with six grip plates at 0, plus 4 and plus 8 degrees, each of them also available in a version that shortens draw length by an eighth of an inch. Hand position can be adjusted without touching the tune of the bow.
